About Postle Industries

Setting the Standard in Hardfacing Technologies

Since 1969, Postle Industries has been focused on one thing: helping customers protect equipment from wear and keep it operating longer.

Through our Postalloy® line of hardfacing and wear-resistant products, Postle provides solutions for abrasion, impact, metal-to-metal wear, erosion, and other severe wear conditions. Our products are supported by decades of application experience and technical expertise across industries, including mining, agriculture, railroad, oil and gas, recycling, construction, sugar processing, and heavy manufacturing

For more than five decades, Postle Industries has focused on setting the standard in hardfacing technology through product innovation, technical expertise and a commitment to solving the toughest wear problems.

We believe hardfacing is more than simply applying weld metal. The right alloy, welding process and application method can significantly extend component life, reduce downtime and lower the overall cost of operating and maintaining equipment.

Our Goal

The goal of hardfacing technology is simple: extend component life, improve productivity, reduce downtime, and lower operating costs.

At Postle, we strive for both product and technical leadership. We continuously invest in product development, application testing, and new welding technologies to provide customers with solutions that deliver maximum performance while remaining practical and user-friendly in the field.

Our custom-built laboratory allows us to develop new alloys, evaluate wear performance, and work directly with customers to solve difficult wear problems. That combination of product technology and application expertise has been a cornerstone of Postle Industries for more than five decades.

Postle Industry Milestones and Events

  1. 1980

In 1980, Postle introduced some of the first Postalloy® .045″ (1.2 mm) hardfacing wires, helping pioneer the development and growth of small-diameter hardfacing wire technology. Today, small-diameter hardfacing wires are widely used throughout the world.

  2. 1987

In 1987, recognizing the need for wear-resistant solutions beyond traditional welding, Postle introduced its MetalTec® range of repair and abrasion-resistant compounds. This expanded Postle’s capabilities beyond welding consumables and provided customers with new solutions using advanced polymers combined with ceramic and stainless-steel fillers.

  3. 2002

In 2002, Postle turned its attention to the Oil and Gas drilling industry and began developing a new generation of non-cracking, wear-resistant alloys for hardbanding drill pipe. Tuffband® NC was introduced in 2002, followed by Duraband® NC in 2007, further advancing crack-free hardbanding technology for maximum drill-pipe wear protection.

  4. 2013

In 2013, Postle expanded into the railroad industry, focusing on hardfacing and rebuilding applications for rail and track components. With frogs and switches exposed to continuous impact and wear, Postle developed two new products specifically for these demanding applications: Postalloy® FrogTuff and RailTuff, available as both flux-cored wire and flux-coated electrodes.

  5. 2019

In 2019, after recognizing the need for more advanced welding equipment and technology in hardfacing applications, Postle became a Fronius Authorized Partner Plus. The partnership combined Postle’s hardfacing expertise with Fronius welding technology, opening new possibilities for process control, automation, and wire applications that had previously been difficult or impractical. Also in 2019, Postle introduced a new generation of hardfacing products featuring RCT™ – Reactive Core Technology. RCT was developed to improve weldability and provide greater control over the formation of the hardfacing deposit, resulting in more consistent performance and improved wear properties.

  6. 2020

In 2020, Postle expanded its international presence by opening a division in Scotland. The new location strengthened Postle’s ability to support customers and distributors throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East while providing a stronger foundation for continued international growth.

  7. 2022

In 2022, Postle continued its expansion in the railroad industry with the introduction of Postalloy® FrogTuff-FCO, a flux-cored wire developed specifically for the repair and rebuilding of manganese railroad frogs. It quickly established itself as a leading product for manganese frog repair applications.

  8. 2025

In 2025, Postle introduced CaneShield™ by Postalloy®, a dedicated line of hardfacing products and solutions for the sugarcane industry. CaneShield built on Postle’s years of experience working with sugar mills around the world and expanded its focus on protecting critical high-wear components throughout the milling process.

  9. 2026

In 2026, Postle introduced the Postalloy® CF Series, a new line of chrome-free hardfacing alloys. The CF Series provides customers with new wear-resistant options while responding to the industry’s increasing focus on welding fumes, environmental requirements, and chrome-free technology.

More Than a Welding Alloy

Whether extending the life of a new OEM component, rebuilding equipment already in service, or developing a solution for a wear problem that has never been addressed before, Postle Industries brings together products, technology, and application expertise to help customers achieve better results.

Our objective is not simply to sell welding consumables. It is to understand the wear problem, select or develop the right solution, and help our customers increase component life, improve productivity, and lower their total operating cost. That is what Setting the Standard means at Postle Industries.
